Australian women ranked highest of all G20 countries when our poll asked if women had faced harassment at work. Four in every 10 Australian women said they had been harassed. Australia was in the top five countries when women were asked if they would report harassment with 23 percent saying they would always or mostly speak out.
When our poll asked women in Australia to name their biggest concern in the workplace it found that equal pay to men was the top worry, at 53 percent, even though Australia tops the G20 countries in a World Economic Forum ranking of female to male estimated earned income. This was followed by work-life balance at 46 percent and flexible working hours at 40 percent. Just under half of Australian women said men had better career opportunities.
